I think this is the main reason the AI rarely engages me, each faction has a ton of threatening enemies, and it occurs to them I'm not really provoking anything other than having long immobile border guard forces perpetually on the border.
then I just fight till that faction is dead, or provides a rump bumper state willing to play nice (or at least unable to commit real harm). which almost always occur, with my forces being technically in a defensive war the first turn. I never have war weariness issues, but I think it is because of my playing style, in Med 2 I was always getting bizarre diplomatic traits like untrustworthy or terrible relations, but I've always played carefully in avoiding pissing off my neighbors, usually just turtling up until I had a just cause of war.

The enemy will infrequently raise a new army against you, but this is even less frequently a threat due to the fact that new units start off depleted. And I really mean no resistance because 3/4 of the towns in this game have no garrison. Because it's so ♥♥♥♥ing difficult (And when I say difficult, I mean tedious) to raise an army, once you beat a faction's one army you can just march through their territory with no resistance. Once you win a battle, you've won the war. They are a bunch of whiny children: Waaah! Gunter has exactly 2 more estates, that don't even do anything, than I do! Waaah! Not that I don't WANT to stab my own people because Removal of agents: Why can I stab my own people, but not my enemies. Public Order is RNG, and there is no way to stop a town from rebelling, it'll just happen at some random point and garrisoning units in a town has no effect on public order. This is almost worse than the Pope in Med2. You earn war-ferver by doing battles, but you lose war-ferver by being at war. War wariness: Why does this exist in a game called "Total War"? Also why is it so counter intuitive. New unit recruitment system: It can take upwards of 20 turns for a single unit of a particular type to show up, and that's if you have good luck. REAL reasons Thrones of Britannia sucks (That I never hear anybody talk about, in spite of experiencing all of them in my first few hours of playing) No Blood and Gore DLC: When did this stupid "paying for graphics that aren't even that good" crap become a desirable inclusion?
